The Power of Generosity
We believe in the power of generosity. Your support through your giving empowers us to continue our mission of spreading love, hope, and compassion to our community and beyond.
Why Do We Give?
We give to God’s church because of the grace that He has poured out on us. This grace giving has several characteristics:
- It is generous (2 Corinthians 8:2–3)
- It is based on our relationship with God (2 Corinthians 8:5)
- It is shared (2 Corinthians 8:6)
- It is active (2 Corinthians 8:7)
- It is rooted in love (2 Corinthians 8:8)
- We are to cheerfully give as God has convicted us (2 Corinthians 9:7). Don’t give out of guilt.
The principles of giving encompass:
- Tithe (the first 10% of earnings), which God claims as His own (Malachi 3:10)
- Offerings (a love offering in addition to the tithe)
More notes on giving:
- Tithe is important, but only your offerings come directly to the College Church. So it’s important to give offerings as well as tithe.
- God promises that if we are faithful in our tithes and offerings, He will bless us (Luke 6:38).
- We welcome all donations, of course, but donations to the Church Budget enable us to be flexible and address needs more quickly than those targeted to specific areas.
Supporting Christian Education
Your donations enable us to help parents to get a Christian education for their kids, and to support South Lancaster Academy itself.
Empowering Outreach
We believe in reaching out to those in need, both locally and globally. Your generosity helps us fund outreach initiatives that provide food, shelter, and hope to those who need it most.
- helping the needy with our work at the WHEAT Community Café, North Star Family Services, and in our holiday food drive
- ministering to the community at our annual Choose Wellness health fair
- hosting vaccine clinics
- and much more!
Equipping Our Place of Worship
Your contributions help maintain our church building as a welcoming and safe space for worship, prayer, and community events.
- keeping our church warm in the winter and cool in the summer
- making needed repairs and upgrades to our building
- taking care of other physical plant needs, such as installing an elevator
- and much more!
Audio/Visual Support
Your contributions enable us to buy the necessary equipment so that we all can hear well and live stream services for those who cannot attend in person.
How to Give
Besides putting a donation in the offering plate, you can:
- Use our Adventist Giving page (see below).
- Use the Adventist Giving app for iPhone or Android.
- Mail a check to: PO Box 877, So. Lancaster, MA 01561-0877.
ABOUT ONLINE DONATIONS
You can use a credit or debit card, but the electronic check option avoids card processing fees, so more of your donation is usable.
- For an electronic check you need the routing transit number and account number (see below) from the bottom of your checks, or call your bank.
- Adventist Giving can save this info so that you only need to enter it once.
WHEAT Community Connections
WHEAT Community Connections has served residents of the Greater Clinton, MA area since 1982, and in 2012 became a direct service program of the United Way of Tri-County. WHEAT continues to be a local organization supporting local residents through care, compassion and quality programs and services.
On the second Friday of each month the College Church prepares and serves food for the needy at WHEAT, 272 High St., Clinton.
